Thing 16: My Space

Ok, I signed up for My Space, but it seems rather complicated to make it cool. Mine looks so plain. Just blah. Guess I need to put more time and effort in it.

Thing 15: Social Networking

Some of these My Space pages are way cool! I really liked Brooklyn College's, with the fun music and the red background. If we had a cool page like their's with lots going on, it might be a neat addition.

Thing 14: VBPL RA wiki

I found the link to add the VBPL Reader's Advisory, but it was blank. Luckily, a co-worker was able to fix it. She just copied and pasted from the last entry and all was o.k. It helps to have someone there to ask questions of, as in, "Is this supposed to be completely white, with no writing?"

So, my entry is:
Harrison, Kim. Dead Witch Walking. White witch and Inderland Security Agent,Rachel Morgan decides to quit her job. But, everyone knows, you don't leave the Federal Inderland Bureau. So, she's off, with Ivey, a living vampire and Jenks, a pixie with a cocktail drink size sword and 50 kids, to live in a retired church on consecrated ground. Working as an paranormal investigation team, they are just trying to get on with their lives. But everyone knows that Rachel is a dead witch walking. tags: paranormal, suspense, witch, vampire, pixie

Thing 13:Wiki

Wow! So much info and so little time to process. I enjoyed learning that Wiki's are more than just Wikipedia. They can be used by individuals and/or groups to share resources, outline procedures, and have it all out there for the world to seek and to tweek. I loved the way information about the ALA conference was available for out of towners. And if you knew a place to grab a donut at 3 in the morning, just add away!

I keep getting lost in the links!

Thing 12: IM experience

I manned the IM desk for an hour one Thursday night. It was quite enjoyable and easy to answer the questions and juggle the various people logging in. Some people were staff members practicing for the Web2.0 lessons. One question was, " What's the meaning of live?" Uh? "42?" per "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
