I read two of the articles on IMing. I had forgotten that Commodore 64 had a form of IMing back in the day. It was in UNIX and cost extra per minute of use. And I remember it taking minutes to download information in those days, not seconds! Ah, the patience we old folks had then.
Fairly interesting to note:
College librarians promoted IM to check meeting times in lieu that old fashioned instrument, the phone. Seems having that IM square in the corner of your screen encourages multi-tasking.
Some libraries have a Reference IM desk open for business. An opening time of 24/7 seems to be a pie in the sky. Yet, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seemed to work for student's homework questions.

RSS Feeds 2, as well
Recently, I noticed myself looking for the little orange rectangles in websites that caught my eye. Hopscotching, link to link to link, hm....is this interesting, let's add a link. Did you link Hotforwords.com 's feed? (Is this a foreign language?) Philology is the study of language and words. Intelligence can be fun!
Thing 9: RSS Feeds
I've had an RSS feed on Google for a few months now. The managers brought in an expert to give us a quick one hour jump start on the ins and out of RSS feeds. I started out with just the suggested feeds: News, video, humor, etc. But, I quickly added Harry Potter, Jim Butcher, and stopped receiving all that extranious who-rah.

7 1/2 Habits: Easiest and Hardest
Of the 7 1/2 Habits, the easiest for me would be Habit # 7 1/2: Play and the hardest would be Habit #3: View problems as challenges.
